This meditation looks at the phrase ki karov elekha hadavar me’od (Deuteronomy 30:14), “for this thing is very close to you” — not far off across the ocean or up in the sky — and considers the ways that we leave ourselves and our personal experience in pursuit of a feeling of divine presence, when on the contrary, the invitation is to return to outselves and be where we are, and it is there, very close, that we ever find God waiting for us.
