Spiritual Counseling

How can you live more fully into your own divine light? What song are you longing to sing?
As a spiritual counselor — also known as a spiritual guide or director — I support you in the sacred process of becoming your truest self, a process of healing, returning, strengthening and growing that unfolds in unique ways for each person.

God heals people by making them into what they are really meant to be.

Richard Rohr
We listen together to what is stirring in you – the challenges and struggles, the stuck places, the fears, anxieties and griefs, the glimmers and yearnings, the inklings and inspirations, the body’s communications – we listen to all of these as signposts on your spiritual journey, as divine invitations into greater wholeness and self realization. We listen with curiosity, compassion and love to anything that bubbles up and we honor all of the pieces as sacred, tending to the brokenness as well as to your emerging center.
We work to strengthen your relationship with the Beyond as you understand it and to strengthen your own inner knowing, to support you in developing your capacity to drop into yourself and find your intuitive divine core, your Resting Place, and to live and act from that place.
We slow down and make space for Mystery. We slow down and make space for Spirit to accompany you and to show you the way, your way.

My Background

I was trained and certified by an interfaith/interspiritual organization called the Spiritual Guidance Training Institute (SGTI).   I welcome and have been trained to serve seekers from all backgrounds and traditions as well as those who are not affiliated with any formal faith tradition.

I have strong roots in Modern Orthodox Judaism, and have also pursued an interest in many other religious traditions, including Buddhism, Christianity, Sufism and Unitarian Universalism.  I hold a BA from Princeton University in Religion and a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania in Rabbinic Literature.

Spiritual counseling is a cross-disciplinary field.  I bring tools and skills, education and experience from the following other modalities into my work as a Spiritual Counselor: Internal Family Systems (IFS), Focusing, mindfulness and Mindful Self Compassion (MSC), person centered therapy and Buddhist therapeutic approaches.

Sessions: I offer one hour sessions on zoom or in person.  Spiritual counseling is usually done once every four weeks, but frequency is flexible based on your needs.  Fees are on a sliding scale. Please contact me for the current range. An initial 30-minute consultation to determine if this is the right fit for you is offered free of charge.

Contact: Please contact me at [email protected] to set up an initial meeting if you feel called to this work.
