MEDITATION: Proclaiming Holiness (Parashat Emor)

The term used in our parsha for the holidays is mikra’ei kodesh . It comes from the notion that we are the ones given the power to proclaim certain days holy. In this meditation, we consider expanding that power and that invitation to become proclaimers of holiness in everyday life, to turn, like the angels, and look from person to person and thing to thing in our world and declare — holy, holy, holy, this, too, is sacred — exploring what that feels like and the impact it has on us and those around us.
