MEDITATION: Reaching the Deep Well of Your Own Heart (Parashat Vayigash)

At a critical moment, Yehudah steps into the breach and cracks Yosef wide open with his words. There is a midrash that compares this scene to a deep well of fresh, cool waters that no one could reach until one person — Yehudah — ties thread to thread to weave a long rope that can reach the waters. In this meditation, we weave our own ropes — made of the threads of love and connection we glimpse in our lives — and we send those ropes down into the well of our hearts and sense what is there.
