In this meditation, we look at the story of Yitro’s intervention with Moshe — how he helped Moshe see he was overworking in taking care of the people all on his own — as an essential prelude to the revelation at Mount Sinai as it allowed Moshe to clear the space he needed to be able to receive God’s wisdom. We look at the busyness and crowdedness that blocks us, too, from connecting to God and consider how we might make space to allow for greater access and then return like Moshe radiating new divine wisdom, presence, light and love to our parts and each other.
